Winter Wonderlights

We visited the Winter Wonderlights Exhibit at The Wilderness Experience Museum. After walking down Candy Cane Lane through a beautiful display of lights (sparkling snowmen, gingerbread men, candy canes, polar bears and much more), we made our way to the Elves Workshop, where the girls wrote letters to Santa. Talia asked for a doll and a phone, and Nadia asked for a doll. The girls then created reindeer from tracings of their hands and feet and then headed off to see Santa.

On the way to meet Santa, Talia and Nadia mailed their letters to the North Pole at the Polar Bear Post and then were surprised by two of Santa's reindeer and several of his Elves. Talia even met an elf that sewed the dresses for the dolls that the other elves make. She thought this was really neat! After being greeted by Mrs. Claus, the girls had the chance to meet with Santa. Surprisingly, and for the first time, BOTH girls sat on Santa's lap. They restated their wishes and he reminded them to be good, help mommy and daddy and clean up their toys.

What a night! Merry Christmas!

First Thanksgiving in Colorado

We hosted our first Thanksgiving in Colorado for Nate's brother's family, David, Jean, Tad and Skye. Jean's brother, Ken, also joined us. Nate was in charge of dinner, and it was delicious. The girls LOVED everything - even the yams!

Cul-de-Sac Pre-Holiday Party

Our Cul-de-sac kicked off the holiday season with a pot-luck party. We hosted at our house, and everyone had a great time. It was a big day for me because I succeeded at my first attempt making my mom's homemade sauce and homemade manicotti. The dish received a thumbs up. The kids all had a lot of fun, and I just have to say I am very glad we have a big backyard and large playroom!

Nadia's Thanksgiving Show and Party

Nadia's school hosted a Thanksgiving Show and luncheon this afternoon. Nadia was a little shy and chose not to join the other kids on stage. I finally managed to get her to sit on my lap for the last song (but she wouldn't take her coat off! She usually leaves it on for the first part of the school day as well.). She and Talia had a great time at the luncheon. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Pinkalicious Soccer Party

Talia and Nate hosted a soccer party for Team Pinkalicious (which Daddy coached). Talia was so happy to receive her trophy. You can catch a glimpse of it in her hand!

First Snowfall

The girls were extremely excited to wake up to their first snowfall EVER! They bundled up in snow clothes, ran outside, took off their gloves to touch the snow, lasted about 3 minutes (maybe!) and then said, :"Can we go eat breakfast now?"
